Hi, I’m Nekenwa—a Nigerian filmmaker, storyteller, and the voice behind Nekenwa Stories and Nekenwa TV on YouTube.
For years, I’ve used this blog to document my life: the dreams I chase, the setbacks I’ve faced, and my creative journey as a filmmaker in Nigeria. But this year, I’m opening a new chapter.
Introducing: Money & Me
This isn’t your typical finance column. I’m not a finance guru, and I won’t pretend to be. I’m just someone learning how to manage money while chasing a big, scary dream—starting a building project from scratch.
Growing up in Nigeria, I learned to stretch every naira. But now, I’m diving into budgeting, saving, and side hustles—territory I was never taught. And I’m documenting it all through stories, blog posts, and films.
Why Mix Money with Movies?
I’m a filmmaker first. I believe the best way to teach is through stories that hit the heart—and maybe make you laugh, cry, or rethink how you use your wallet.
That’s why I’m rechanneling my YouTube to something new: personal finance told through cinema. Think drama, not dry lectures.
In my upcoming short film, The Debt Trap, a young woman’s careless spending turns into a full-blown crisis—and she learns to budget the hard way. It’s entertainment with a purpose.
Coming Soon:
“Why I Started Budgeting” — A 60-second YouTube Short that shows the moment everything changed.
