Nyesom Wike threatens to leave PDP for APC if not given Vice President’s slot.
Someone would always say, “Chai! Chai! Don’t cry, don’t cry”.
The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike was seen bittered on Wednesday night when the speculations of Atiku picking a different running mate surfaced.
As the election for 2023 draws closer, the question of who will be Atiku’s running mate pressures.
Atiku Abubakar has to pick between Nyesom Wike and Ifeanyi Okowa.
Wike before this time promised to remain in PDP no matter the outcome of the just concluded primary election.
On Wednesday, Wike was perceived to have acted otherwise.
There is a possibility that the governor of Rivers state realised he can never win the VP slot of PDP, hence his decamp.
Wike decided to join APC after he realized that there was no opportunity for him to be the Vice President of Atiku come the 2023 election.
On Thursday afternoon, PDP officially announced Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta state as the running mate of Atiku Abubakar.
Without being told, this would be one of the things that will justify Nyesom Wike’s decamp to APC.
Before this time, Wike had been a strong member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
His affluence earned him the second runner-up in the just concluded PDP presidential primary election.
This affluence made people conclude that he will emerge as Atiku’s running mate.
Unfortunately for the ever-proud governor, the hope for the office of the Vice President bounced back to be a negative attempt.
It is now official that Ifeanyi Okowa will Vice Atiku Abubakar if he emerges as the president of Nigeria.
