Isi-agu cloth is an attire common to the Igbo race.
This means that the Igbos’ style of clothing is identified with the Isi-agu (lion’s head).
Recall that in one of his (Kanu) previous court appearances, the judge questioned why he kept on wearing the Fendi designers she warned he shouldn’t wear to court again.
In defence, the Nigerian government through their council told the court that the materials (clothing) that were brought to him had the lion’s head (Isi-agu) insignia.
To them, the federal government was not okay with it. It makes the federal government feel belittled.
They feel that the federal government will see themselves as a people below Nnamdi Kanu.
The judge, Justice Binta Nyako advised that Kanu be given plain shirts that have no insignia of any kind.

However, the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu sees this approach as an encroachment on his rights as an individual.
Through his counsel, Maxwell Opara, Kanu filed a case against the federal government challenging this violation.
Kanu, through his lawyer, said that it was his right to wear a cloth common to his people’s culture.
Stopping him from wearing such a kind of cloth is nothing but violence to his rights as a person.
These also implied in a nutshell that the Igbo tribe where Nnamdi Kanu comes from is not welcomed in Nigeria.
How can a material peculiar to a particular culture be a reason why Kanu’s clothes should never be changed?
On many occasions, in many court hearings, people from different cultural backgrounds have been seen going to court in their native attires.
Restricting the IPOB’s leader from wearing his cultural attire is nothing but an act of discrimination.
It, therefore, means that there are certain groups of people who deserve to be known by their culture and there are people who don’t deserve to.
The release of Nnamdi Kanu from the DSS dungeon is the beginning of the settling of Nigeria’s numerous problems.
