After the event that took place in Eziama Obaire on Sunday during a holy service, the Anglican and Catholic churches condemned in totality the desecration of the holy place of worship.

It was on Sunday the 26th of December, 2021 that the arrest of Uche Nwosu happened.

The former Chief of Staff to Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo state was whisked out of the church like a common criminal.

Chief Uche Nwosu was arrested like a common criminal. The members of the DSS snatched him from where he was sitting in the church and threw him into one of their car trunks while shooting sporadically to scare people away.

Meanwhile, while this evil was going on, pressmen were at gunpoint warned against recording the event. Unknown to them, fearless Biafrans had the event filmed and shared with the public before they could even get back to their station.

The way and manner in which Uche Nwosu was arrested demanded a prompt press release by the Anglican and Catholic Bishops.

The Anglican Bishop of Orlu Diocese, Rt Rev. Benjamin Chinedum Okeke MA, JP has condemned the said raid.

He has also called on the state government to investigate the officers involved in the said unruly activity and ensure adequate discipline.

Church Leaders In Anger Over Church Desecration

Most Rev. Augustine T. Ukwuoma of the Catholic Diocese of Orlu had in the same vein condemned the activity of the police force at St Peter’s Anglican Church Eziama Obaire, Nkwerre LGA.

The church recognised the fact that no one is above the law but the dignity of the House of God must be upheld at all cost.

Meanwhile, the Imo state government has apologized for their unruly behaviour on the way and manner the former Imo state gubernatorial aspirant, Uche Nwosu was arrested.
