Africa is in chains because Nnamdi Kanu and Biafrans are still in chains.

It is no longer breaking news that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB is still illegally detained in a Nigerian dungeon.

After being brought to court on the 10th of November, 2021, the case was adjourned to the 19th of January, 2022 outside the knowledge of his lawyers.

Unfortunately, Africa has settled on this platform and because of this, they shall remain where they are (poverty).

Nigeria which is supposed to be the Giant of Africa and should stand in the leading position to lead other African leaders is caught doing things that the least underdeveloped country in Africa cannot do.

Unfortunately, Nnamdi Kanu, the only man who has risen to speak against injustice in Nigeria and by extension Africa in general, is incarcerated.

They (Nigeria) have made him a laughing stock. A man who has risen to stand against the oppressors of the weak.

The drama that sets in almost all of Nnamdi Kanu’s court cases is unfortunately evidence to prove that Africa is still chained.

How can an individual be calling for the liberation of all and sundry and he is condemned to death? Africa has subjected itself to that act of inhumanity.

Since Nnamdi Kanu was illegally returned to Nigeria, no African country has risen against Nigeria to challenge the breach of their international agreements.

Nigeria, by kidnapping Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya has breached her local laws on extradition, international laws and Kenya’s law on extradition.

Unfortunately, even Kenya is afraid to speak up hence giving room to more injustice in Africa in general.

Africa is in chains because the man who calls for the liberation of Africa is continuously illegally detained in Africa.

Africa is still in chains courtesy of African leaders. No effort whatsoever is made to liberate the leader of the freedom fighting group. Instead, he is called a terrorist who is asking for the separation or division of Nigeria.

During 1914 when Lord Fredrick Lugard amalgamated the Southern and Northern protectorates, it was agreed and signed that any region (protectorate) that wishes to separate after 100 years is free to do so.

This said document expired in 2014 and before 2014, the Eastern region had been asking for complete freedom.

The continuous agitation by the Eastern region for freedom led to the declaration of Biafra in 1967 and war broke out which lasted from 1967-1970 (3 years).

Nigeria won the civil war with the help of world powers. It was a war between Biafra and other strong countries of the world.

Irrespective of Gowon’s declaration of no victor no vanquished policy, Igbos we’re still regarded as second class citizens in Nigeria.

Africa has remained in abject poverty since the end of colonization. When true African leaders emerge, the Western world influences African illiterate and power-hungry politicians to fight against them.

This is still the case with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Because Britain knows that if Biafra which Nnamdi Kanu is currently fighting for emerges as a free nation, their evil hold on Africa will be cut off.

Irrespective of the fact that Nnamdi Kanu is a British citizen by nationalization, and has openly denied his Nigerian citizenship, Britain has chosen to remain silent over his illegal detention, and unnecessary court cases.

Being a British citizen and kidnapped in Kenya is enough reason for Britain’s intervention in this Kanu’s case. But because of what Britain stands to lose in Nigeria, Britain has decided to allow their citizen (Mazi Nnamdi Kanu) to rot in the Nigerian dungeon illegally.

How Africa in Chains can be liberated

Nnamdi Kanu

Biafra is the only hope for Africa’s liberation. The continuous detention of Nnamdi and the denial of Biafra freedom will continue to keep Africa in perpetual poverty.

If Africans can rise in demand for the freedom of Nnamdi Kanu and the emancipation of Biafra, this is the only sure way that Africa can be free and be counted among the poverty-free continents of the world.

The freedom of Africa rests on the total emancipation of Biafra. If Biafra is free today, Africa’s freedom begins today.

Holding Nnamdi Kanu and Biafra down is the continuous holding of Africa’s freedom and development.

I am therefore free to say that the breakthrough in Africa’s economic, political, social, cultural etc development is based on the Freedom of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the Republic of Biafra.

Until this is done, Africa will continue to remain where they are.
