Love they say is something beyond human comprehension. Deep love can make you never stop thinking about someone or something.
To stop thinking about someone, therefore means that something bad has happened along the line. This is because there is never a way you are in a good relationship with someone and you are wanting to easily forget about the person.
In some cases, it happens between lovers. Sometimes when you are deeply in love with someone you will notice that it is very difficult to forget about the person even when you have broken up.
True love is what makes an individual find it difficult to forget about the past.
Moreover, outside true love, past unfavourable events can equally make an individual never forget another.
Let’s say someone killed something so dear to you. There is never a way you can forget about such a person or even forgive the person except when you are a core Christian and living according to the dictates of the Holy Bible.

1) Reduce/Stop the attachment
To stop thinking about someone you must therefore try to stop the way you attach yourself to things that concern him or her.
Try to avoid bringing up his/her issues among your friends. Discussing him/her among your friends continuously leaves his/her picture in your head and it will look as if you are losing sanity.
For you to stop thinking about someone it is, therefore, necessary that you try to avoid anything that will remind you of them.
2) Focus on your needs
Your needs are much more important now than that of the person you want to forget.
To stop thinking about someone it is important to understand that what you want/need would come into play.

Sometimes, you will also notice that when you have successfully stopped thinking about that particular person you wish to stop thinking about, it looks like something heavy was lifted from you.

3) Get up from your bed
To stop thinking about someone you must therefore give yourself the chance to. Lying on your bed all day can’t help the situation. Get up from your bed and start doing something different.
The more you lie on the bed the more you think about such a person. Also, your continued lying on the bed renews your past moments and pictures of the person in your heart.
The best way to stop thinking about someone that doesn’t care about you anymore is to get up from your bed and fix yourself with something else.
4) Avoid what reminds you of him/her
On some occasions when you were together, you had material things that reminded you of him/her. To help yourself, you must do away with those materials.
You can’t claim that you are ready to stop thinking about someone and you still have something that reminds you of such a person.
To stop thinking about someone that no longer cares about you, it is time to do away with things that remind you about them.
This ranges from their pictures in your house or your cell phone, their phone numbers and so on.
5) Get distracted with friends
Getting distracted also plays a long role as long as forgetting someone who no longer cares about you is concerned.
To stop thinking about someone it is important to get distracted when you see yourself being reminded about him or her.
You can go to the beach or playstations or the park or the museum. There are many recreational facilities or places you can find yourself that would enable you to forget about your past.
Also, you can forget about someone that doesn’t care about you by watching funny videos and doing so many other interesting things.
The bottom line of the matter is that you need to get yourself distracted from those things that remind you of them.
6) Stop thinking about them
When you avail yourself the opportunity to stop thinking about someone who doesn’t care about you or who broke up with you, you see yourself regaining your life back.
Your ability to stop thinking about them enables you to live a free life and do that thing exactly that makes you happy.
See yourself as someone whose needs are far more important than that of those who mean less important about you.
Endeavour to ensure that your needs are satisfied. You already know what your needs are. So stop thinking about someone whom you know has moved on.
Unfortunately, you might be killing yourself thinking about someone who has moved on a long time ago.
7) Learning a skill
Learning a skill also goes a long way to helping you forget someone you no longer want to think about.
Some skills are difficult to learn. Some of those skills I would recommend you focus on as their difficulty gives you the chance of forgetting your past and facing the problem (new skill) you are faced with.
Some of these skills include learning how to do computer programming, learning how to make different delicacies and so on.
8) Become formal to them
Yeah, this one helps a lot. Before when you were still in that relationship it was fun and things were so informal.
You talk to each other as if you had this bond tying the both of you.
Now that you have gone your separate ways, do you still think that your previous lifestyle would remain the same? No, it can’t.
On some occasions, the person will be coming around. All you have to do is to formalise your discussion with such a person.
Make him or she understand that you have moved on. If you keep on coming up with looks that will make them feel that you are still hanging on to the past, it will make them feel like a god around you.
Therefore, to stop thinking about someone you would need to be formal when maybe something brings you, people, together. It could be business or maybe anything else.
9) Look into your support power
Try and figure out some of those things that enable you to get over your worries.
Some of those activities you engage in that enable you to forget about your agony are highly needed when you want to stop thinking about someone.
Take me for example, I love blogging and acting in movies. Both acting and blogging enable me to forget about my past. The job I derive from them is too exceptional.
It was through my blogging and comedy skits that enabled me to escape what I call a “disastrous heartbreak”.
Another example is my father who takes “snuff” to forget about things that got him upset.
If he is bothered about anything, he would pick up his snuff. One or two intakes of the snuff enable him to regain his joyful mood again.
To some, the intake of alcohol also helps them to forget about their experience and so on.
Therefore, to stop thinking about someone you must return to those things that enable you to get free from things that remind you of the ugly past.
10) Present yourself as if it never happened
This one is also cool. Think less about it and it would appear as if it never happened.
See your past as if it never existed and move on. It is a sure way to stop thinking about someone you don’t want to be reminded of anymore.
To stop thinking about someone who no longer fancies your importance is completely centred on how you distract yourself from things that remind you about them.
Think less about those people and think more of how you can move on.
