Yam Empowerment: LGA Chairman Empowers Citizens with Yam, Cutlass and Hoes
The trending story of a local government chairman in Cross River State has gone ahead to disgrace this country even more. She is conducting yam empowerment in her LGA.
The Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State, Hon. Evangelist Margaret Inde has empowered pilot farmers each with a hoe, cutlass and one tuber of yam.
Lynda Ikeji’s blog learnt that the LG boss handed over the items during activities to mark the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Obanliku LGA as well as a celebration of the New Yam festival held on Friday, August 27.
And someone will still tell me that in this country, people are still normal?
Some time ago in 2020, a senator hailing from Delta state empowered people with wheelbarrows and shovels.
That same year, Buhari empowered people with the same motorcycles that were banned from operating in almost all the states in Nigeria.
Youth empowerment is never a bad idea but the question is and remains, what are you empowering the people with?
This local government chairman had no shame to make it public that this was her way of empowering the farmers.
This country heads towards the West when other countries of the world are heading east.
Unfortunately, the survival of this generation is completely jeopardised.
A reasonable mind would continue to ask, was this yam given to these people for their feeding or was it truly an empowerment product?
Many Nigerians who are reacting to this forbidden iberibeism are wondering if these distributed yams are not part of their covid 19 palliatives that were hidden from them.
This country is a mess as it is propagated by people who are supposed to protect its image.
