Moses has not lasted for more than two years in the Owerri Archdiocese since his inauguration as an auxiliary Bishop.
From a letter written by the Archbishop of the diocese His Lordship, Most Rev. Anthony JV Obinna, the Auxiliary Bishop was released on the 1st day of January, 2021.
According to the Archbishop Obinna in his letter, he said he visited the Bishop Moses Chikwe at around 10: 45pm and confirmed that he has been released actually from his kidnappers.
JV Obinna also noticed that the Moses Chikwe returned very weak as a result of the traumatic experiences he got from the hands of his kidnappers.
From the letter, JV Obinna appreciated the Pope for mentioning the name of the Bishop during his new year Angelus message and equally prayed for his release.
Also, he was greatful to the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Anthonio G. Filipazzi, the Cardinals, Catholic Bishops, Priests, Religious and laity in Nigeria and around the world.
He did not fail to recognise the combined efforts of the Imo and Anambra state governments to ensure the release of the Auxiliary Bishop Moses Chikwe and his driver Ndubuisi Robert.
The Archbishop has told the Catholic faithfuls not to be saddened anymore as the auxiliary bishop and his driver are now back and healthy.
He also thanked them for praying vehemently for their release.
